Fish ‘n’ Chip Fundraiser raises £500!

The small village of Dingley in Northamptonshire have joined together to fundraise (for South Manchester people living with a brain injury) with a fish ‘n’ chip supper – raising a brilliant £500!
The event was organised by the Dingley village committee after a committee member’s daughter suffered a brain injury when she was knocked off her bike.
Linda Beviss’s daughter Kate suffered a severe brain injury in January 2021 when she was knocked off her bike on Chester Road in Manchester while cycling home from work.
Linda said “I moved from Northamptonshire to Stretford for a year while Kate was in hospital and then rehabilitating at home.
During that time I regularly updated the residents of our village (Dingley) by email on Kate’s progress which has led to the fundraising committee deciding to donate the proceeds of our annual charity fish’n’chips night to Headway South Manchester & Stockport. We specifically wanted the money to go to this group as I was supported by the counsellors in your area and Kate attended the Stockport group to play pool a few times.
We are a very small village, only 100 houses, so to raise £500 is quite an achievement. At the event I gave a short talk about Headway’s work and on Kate’s continuing miraculous progress which hopefully helped inspire people to give generously!”
Thank you to everyone who gave so generously at the event – the funds will enable us to continue to provide services for local people living with a brain injury.
