Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were.
Headway
South Manchester
& Stockport
We’re a charity in South Manchester & Stockport who provide information, support and social activities for people suffering from acquired brain injuries. We also support carers, family and friends. Perhaps most importantly, we offer the chance to share experiences knowing that the group members understand some of the problems and difficulties that acquired brain injury brings.
Our service offers the chance for people who have experienced brain injury to get together in a relaxed, supportive and informal environment.
We provide a drop-in service every Wednesday 1pm – 3pm. Find out more.
The group was established in 1983, initially in South Manchester, but recognising the need for long term support services for the head injured in Stockport, moved its base to the town in 1995.
Headway South Manchester & Stockport is a branch of Headway UK, a registered charity. Promoting an understanding of all aspects of brain injury, providing support and information for the head injured, their families and carers.
